The first of its kind, this book brings the diverse fields of Science and Philosophy into face-to-face contact. It is a thrilling journey for all types of readers interested in science or vedanta.
This book has two sections. The first section is a work in physics based on the assumption of a fresh concept - 'the fabric of space', which attempts to explore the secrets of the universe behind various phenomena like matter waves, gravitation, energy in the vacuum state, spiral arms of galaxies, dark matter, Higgs boson and virtual particles which pop out of nowhere, big bang and cosmic inflation, and of course the anti-particle. The concept is discussed in a clear, simple and comprehensive manner so that even a person with only basic knowledge in physics can follow it quite easily. The fabric of space is shown to provide substrate for all physical fields including the electromagnetic field, gravitational field and Higgs field. Discussions are presented in popular science format making it a pleasant read.
The second section presents in-depth vedantic search in cosmology as outlined in verses from the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads. It is presented in objective fashion, avoiding any superstition and religion. The discussions shed light on many previously unknown levels and aspects. Since God cannot be considered in physics due to lack of experimental evidence, this section is provided as a separate part!
This is the work of a father-and-son team. C. Radhakrishnan is a well known physicist, established writer of Malayalam and noted vedantic scholar. He is the winner of Murtidevi Award of the Bharatiya Gnanapith Trust for the best creative work in Indian languages. He has wrote many articles in physics, and he has also to his credit the 'GitaDarsanam', a popular commentary on the Bhagavad Gita in Malayalam language. He has been recognized by India's National Akademi of Letters, the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and almost every other body promoting creative literature of the language he writes. A multi-faceted personality, he has worked as scientist, popular science journalist, film director, columnist, and editor of national and literary journals. Dr. Gopal K. R. is his son, a radiologist by profession.
